I’ll be honest, I’m not usually a fan of fruity strain types. There are a couple of girls that I do enjoy such as Blueberry, Grape Ape and Tangie but for the most part, I tend to stray away from the pineapples and strawberry, etc. flavors. However, on a recent trip to one of my favorite dispensaries in Portland, Oregon, Americanna RX, I came across a delicious sounding strain in the Banana Mango Live Resin from Buddies Brand, based out of the Rose City, for the very low price of just $18 USD a gram. Now to give you some strain lineage background, the Banana Mango, Bred by Humboldt Seed Company is an Indica-Dominant three-way cross that joins Mango Trees, Banana OG, and Blueberry Muffin to create a strain that is said to be tastier than a Jamba Juice smoothie.
I decided to use my Mobius Glass Stereo Matrix bubbler for this session and upon opening the jar to the Banana Mango Live Resin, I could instantly smell notes of diesel and citrus with a distinct aroma of candied bananas. The smell reminded me of the tiny candy bananas I would find on the side of the road on my travels throughout Hawaii. In terms of the color and consistency, the Banana Mango was a beautiful golden-yellow that appeared on the saucy side and was more than easy to work with as I grabbed a perfect-sized dab with very little effort. Now, as soon as my nail hit the quartz banger, I was able to taste this delicious bouquet of gas and tropical fruit that left me staggering after a heavy hit. The Banana Mango Live Resin was heavy and had me blasted after one dab so this gear is without question a one-hitter quitter. For the rest of the night, I was beyond relaxed and my chronic back and neck pains were non-existent. Be warned, the Banana Mango will put you down if you’re not ready as was the case with a friend of mine so play it safe.
At the end of the day, the Banana Mango Live Resin was a delicious sample that made me an instant fan of fruity strains again. When it came to her taste and pungency, the Banana Mango was a wonderful flavor explosion that left nice notes of jet fuel, bananas and citrus on my palate well after exhale so I gave her a score of 9.4/10. In regards to her strength and potency, the Banana Mango was a heady girl that had me destroyed for a solid two to three hours and was the perfect strain for a night hanging out at home. Overall, I loved the Banana Mango Live Resin and would absolutely recommend you grab some of this deliciousness if you are lucky enough to find it in your neck of the woods.
