Every so often, I come across a strain that I’ve been looking to try for a while and when I finally locate it, it’s probably the happiest I’m able to get these days. One of those happy moments came this week when I was able to finally find a strain I’ve been hearing amazing things about for the last two years in the Sundae Strudel. I was able to find this girl at one of my favorite Rose City dispensaries on clearance from Portland Extracts for $24 USD and it was the Rocks & Sauce that usually retails for double that price. To give you a little strain background, the Sundae Strudel, bred by Cannarado Genetics, is an Indica-Dominant Hybrid that crosses Cherry Strudel with Sundae Driver to create a strain that is said to be Cup level material.
I decided to use my Toro Glass Bubbler for this sample and once the jar was open on the Sundae Strudel I was able to smell mellow hints of lemons and skunk but they were pretty mild. As for the consistency, the Sundae Strudel was a beautiful mix of soupy terpenes and THC rocks that left me salivating. If there was one negative, the Sundae Strudel was a bit darker than I’m used to for Rocks & Sauce but it still looked fabulous. I was easily able to grab a nice sized dab and once it made contact with the quartz banger it was blast off time as I was instantly feeling a heavy stone take over my entire body and sweat began to pour from my forehead. The Sundae Strudel was some heavy-duty gear and I was completely blasted after one good dab that had me incapacitated and relieved of my pains for a solid three hours. Flavor-wise, I would have liked a heavier bouquet but it was definitely there and noticeable and carried with it light notes of diesel and lemons.
Overall, the Sundae Strudel was a wonderful strain that was as strong as anything I’ve sampled this year. When it came to her strength and potency, I was blown away by how ripped theseĀ Rocks & Sauce got me and forced me to literally lay down for a few minutes so for that reason I gave the Sundae Strudel a score of 9.7/10 which is my highest potency score of the year. Now, when it came to her taste and pungency, the Sundae Strudel had a nice mellow flavor but it wasn’t as strong as I’d like for the price I paid so I gave her a score of 8.8/10. At the end of the day, I loved how stoned the Sundae Strudel Rocks & Sauce would get me so for that reason I would absolutely recommend this strain if you find it on a shelf near you as you will not be disappointed.
