It’s been quite a while since I sampled a brand new “Kush” strain. I’d have to say that over the last 20 years I’ve probably tasted close to 100 different Kush Variations, with many being a delight. So when I walked into my local dispensary and noticed the Candy Kush Terp Sugar from Bodhi High Extracts out of Spokane Valley, Washington I just had to give them my $30 USD for a gram. To give you a little lineage background, Candy Kush is an Indica-Dominant hybrid that combines two of my favorites in Blue Dream and OG Kush, This strain is said to be delicious as well as mind-numbing so I was more than ready to take her for a spin.

I decided to use my Mobius Stereo Matrix Bubbler for this session and upon opening the jar of the Candy Kush I could smell light notes of Cream and Diesel which had a light blueberry finish. As I dug my nail into the extract, I was very pleased with the consistency which reminded me of thick honey, and it was also very beautiful to look at. I was easily able to grab a nice-sized dab and once it hit the quartz banger, her flavors became more pronounced as I could taste flavors of lemons and gas. Upon exhale, I could feel a nice stone slowly creep into a heavier fade and after two dabs I was pretty baked. This stuff was nice and stony, but at a price point of $30, I truly expected more. The fade itself was decent and had me ripped but it shouldn’t take me two dabs to get there at that price so I was somewhat disappointed. By no means was this a bad extract, as it helped to relieve my pains and had me mellow for a while, I just expected more at the end of the day.

Overall, The Candy Kush was a decent sample but didn’t live up to the hype, especially considering how much I paid. When it came to her taste and pungency, the Candy Kush had a mellow flavor profile of Lemon and Diesel with light berry notes but it really wasn’t very impressive, so I had to give the Candy Kush a score of 8.8/10. In terms of her strength and potency, I also found the Candy Kush to be lacking as it took me two solid dabs to get me to a level that shouldn’t take more than one. The high was mellow and did take away my pain and stress so for that reason I gave the Candy Kush a score of 8.9/10. This was once of those reviews where price sometimes doesn’t equal potency as I felt somewhat let down by the Candy Kush for the cost I shelled out. I absolutely would not recommend this sample, especially at this price point.
