With the Holiday Season completely upon us, I’ve been on a low-budget mode recently, which has meant no more of the top shelf extracts for me. Instead, I’ve been searching out the shelves for the lesser-priced but not always lesser-quality gear. On my recent trip into Portland, Oregon I found a brand new extract that caught my attention in the Dolato Si Do Live Resin from Hush Canna Extracts out of Portland at $15 USD for 1.25 grams. To give you a little strain lineage background, Dolato Si Do is an Indica-dominant hybrid created by crossing Do-Si-Dos with Gelato and then crossing it again with Do-Si-Dos. From what I had read about the Dolato, I’d only heard positive reviews so I was beyond excited to give this extract a try.
I decided to use my Toro Glass Bubbler for this session and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much at this price point. But upon opening the jar to the Dolato Si Do Live Resin, I was pleasantly surprised as I was hit in the face with deep notes of jet fuel and cookies with a nice pine finish. As I dug my nail into the Dolato Si Do, I was very pleased with the texture and appearance of this stuff which I’d compare to a golden sugar wax that was more on the wet side. I was easily able to grab a good-sized glob and as soon as it hit the quartz banger I was instantly feeling the high from head to toe. Upon exhale, I was able to taste her delicious bouquet of diesel and that familiar cookie taste with a hint of what I’d describe as a lemon pine-sol finish. This gear was heady as I was very faded for a solid two hours off just one hit. My usual neck and back pains were virtually non-existent and the high was nice and deep without being too narcotic as I was still able to get my laundry done and watch some Seinfeld reruns.
At the end of the day, I was totally blown away by the Dolato Si Do, especially at the price of just $15. I have to tip my cap to Hush Extracts as this Live Resin was better than some of the gear I’ve paid over $25 for recently. In terms of the Dolato Si Do’s Taste and Pungency, she was much tastier than I expected and had a wonderful profile of terpenes that lasted on my tongue well after exhale so I gave her a score of 9.5/10. When it came to her strength and potency of her, the Dolato Si-Do was a perfect stone that had me fully baked without being incapacitated. I was fully able to get things done while still feeling nice and relaxed so I gave the Dolato Si Do a score of 9.1/10. Overall, I was very surprised by this sample at its price and would highly recommend trying this girl out if you are lucky enough to see it on a shelf near you.
