Honeydew Farms strikes again with another variety of “Littles” that leave a huge impact. The Savage Purple Strain by Honeydew Farms is an indica strain with a different type of vibe. With a name more menacing than its bite, Savage Purple stimulates your mind and produces a long-lasting sense of relaxation!

Savage Purple is an indica dominant hybrid variety of cannabis that results from a cross between Purple Urkle and either GDP or Mendocino Purple. Either way, this strain is a California native. This strain is accessible through Honeydew Farms, which is sold at a variety of dispensaries and delivery services throughout California. Honeydew Farms is Humboldt County’s first conditional use permitted cannabis farm. According to their website, their location is a huge factor in the distinct flavors and profiles of their products. “Located in the highly coveted Mattole Valley, our 600-acre Agricultural preserve lies in the foothills of the Lost Coast’s Kings Range. The Mattole’s unique micro climate, with it’s hot days and cool nights, creates the perfect environment, and combined with our over 25 years of cultivation experience, we produce some of the world’s finest medical Cannabis. Our cultivation sites range in elevation from our valley floor at 200 feet, to our ridge tops at 900 feet, creating distinct differences in our batches.” In addition to this, Honeydew Farms reuses its soil each season, decreasing their impact on their environment and increasing their sustainability.

The Savage Purple indica strain by Honeydew Farms has a pungent smell that hits you the moment you open the reinforced zip-top bag it comes in. The Savage Purple nugs are all fairly uniform and come in small, slightly conical and spade-shaped bunches. Despite the name, there was not a huge amount of purple coloring or hue to my batch of this strain. It was more green and orange. The smell and flavor are both quite pleasant and mild, allowing for a smooth smoke til the last puff.

The Savage Purple strain contains 17% THC with 20.02% total cannabinoids. This strain is strong without being overpowering. What I mean by that is its effects are felt without the insane couchlock or munchies other strains of its caliber automatically come with. The Savage Purple strain is wonderful for calming the mind and relaxing the body. I often carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck. With Savage Purple, I could gradually feel the tension and stress just melt away. Anxious or stressed consumers may find a great use for this strain along with anyone dealing with mild headaches, insomnia, or general irritation.

I don’t always want to be reaching for snacks or passing out when I smoke. Sometimes it’s more about the experience and sense of relaxation and relief it brings, especially as I get older. For others out there who feel the same, Savage Purple is the strain for you! I love the great balance between the physical and cerebral effects and would definitely use this strain again in the future. If you care about sustainability, supporting local business, and high-quality nuanced cannabis, you won’t be disappointed with anything Honeydew Farms has to offer.
