Over the past few years, the amount of new and exciting hybrids that I’ve been seeing at dispensaries has grown exponentially. Thanks to legalization and easier access to seeds and clones, so many amazing breeders have come out of the woodwork and they’re creating new crossbreeds at an unbelievable pace. On a recent trip into Portland, Oregon, I came across a new hybrid that instantly made me say, “Why has this taken so long to create?”. This was the case with the Chem Durb Live Resin from Beehive Extracts in collaboration with Northwest Artisan that I found for $19 USD a gram. Now, in case you didn’t figure out the lineage of this cross from its name, Chem Durb is just that, Chemdawg X Durban Poison and the Sativa-Dominant hybrid is said to be all that and then some. Both of these strains hold a special place in my heart so I was extremely excited to give her a try.
I decided to go with my Toro Glass bubbler for this session and as soon as I opened the jar I was met with mellow notes of Cherry, Pine, and Diesel which reminded me more of the Durban Poison than the Chemdawg. My first impression of this extract was it looked a bit on the dark side but had a perfect consistency as I was easily able to grab a nice-sized dab. Once my nail hit the quartz banger I could instantly taste a mild flavor profile of gas and berries. The taste wasn’t as loud as I would’ve liked but thankfully the high made up for it. This was some heavy-duty extract that had me ripped after one solid dab. For a Sativa, I was very impressed as this stuff had me feeling it from head to toe almost
instantly. I wasn’t completely devastated but I was beyond stoned and truly felt like more of her Indica was shining though as I had to take a seat on the couch. This wasn’t exactly couch-lock material but it had me mellow and relaxed. As for my chronic neck and back pain, they were non-existent so I would absolutely recommend this for folks needing relief. After about a half-hour, I was fully functional as well as super faded and full of energy. I would have to say this was a great strain for an afternoon session and didn’t leave me burned out whatsoever.
At the end of the day, the Chem Durb Live Resin was a wonderful strain that I totally enjoyed. In terms of her flavor and pungency, I found the Chem Durb to have a nice bouquet but it wasn’t as prevalent as I expect from a Live Resin so for that reason I gave it a score of 8.8/10. When it came to her strength and potency, this is where the Chem Durb shined. Considering she’s a Sativa, the Chem Durb Live Resin packed a solid punch that had me feeling wonderful for a solid two hours. It removed my stress and pain and had me super faded so I decided to give the Chem Durb a score of 9.5/10. Overall, I enjoyed the Chem Durb Live Resin and would absolutely recommend grabbing some if you see her in your neck of the woods.
