I don’t know about you, but I seriously love me some terpenes. On a recent trip to my local dispensary, I came across a new terpene heavy extract in the Purps #1 Terp Slushee from Dorado Extracts, based out of Washington State at a price of $25 USD a gram. What first caught my eye about the Purps #1 was the wood trim on the container as I’m a sucker for packaging. The second selling point for me is the fact that I’d never heard of a Terp Slushee, so I was jazzed. Now to give you a little background, Purps #1 is an Indica dominant hybrid that crosses the original Blueberry with Purple Afghani Kush and is said to be relaxing mentally and physically without being too devastating.
I decided to go with my Toro Glass Bubbler and as soon as I opened the container on the Purps #1, I was hit in my nostrils with a mellow diesel aroma and a hint of berries. Sadly, it wasn’t as strong as I expected as this had a 9% terpene level as well as the name Terp Slushee. At first glance, the Purps #1 looked like a terp sauce so I’m unsure why they call it a Slushee. As my nail dug into the sauce, I was very pleased as this had a perfect consistency that was easy to work with. I grabbed a nice glob and when it hit the quart banger I instantly could taste a nice mellow kush flavor with a hint of blackberry. Upon exhale, I was instantly hit by her potency. Folks had said this wasn’t too devastating but it was pretty devastating as I instantly started sweating profusely from my forehead and felt the heavy stone from head to toe. This Purps #1 was a deep narcotic fade that had me couch-locked for a solid hour. Once I was able to finally function, I encountered some major munchies and ate an entire large pizza by myself. At the end of the day, I absolutely loved the Purps #1 as it relieved my stress and anxiety along with my back pains and got me beyond ripped, which made it a perfect strain for putting me to bed.
Overall, I found the Purps #1 to be an impressive extract when it came to her strength and potency. I was stoned for a solid two hours so this is a true one-hitter quitter and for that reason, it earned a score of 9.7/10. When it came to the flavor and pungency, I would have liked a heavier terpene profile but the Purps #1 had a mellow gas and blueberry taste so I gave it a score of 8.8/10. In the end, this was a great extract and the potency made it well worth the price. If you happen to see the Purps #1 on a shelf near you, don’t hesitate to give her a shot.
