,I’m a huge fan of sea salt caramels but an even bigger fan of cannabis edibles, so the thought of combining the two seemed like a no brainer. After some experimenting, let me be the first to tell you that they’re delicious but can be a royal pain to make as you have to fumble with a candy thermometer, boiling points and you get the drift. But fear not friends as I have found a simple recipe, prepared entirely in the microwave. These delicious chewy pieces of buttery sweetness and salty goodness are the perfect treats that won’t leave you feeling full and will get you extremely high, all without a burned pan and the mess. Below is my very simple recipe that can be made non-Canna as well, making for great holiday stocking stuffers. Hope you enjoy. Bon Appétit

Cannabutter Caramels with Sea Salt :

1/4 cup Cannabutter (Can use salted butter instead for Non-Canna)
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Corn Syrup
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/4 tsp salt

(1-2 Tsp Sea Salt sprinkled on top when done)

In a large microwave safe glass bowl (Make sure to choose one big enough as the caramel mixture will bubble up) Combine all ingredients and then microwave the mixture on High for 6 minutes (7 minutes for weak microwaves) while stopping every 90 seconds to stir. One more time, microwave for 6 total minutes, stopping every 90 seconds (or if it’s about to bubble over your bowl). When you remove the bowl make sure to use a pot holder as it will be extremely hot and then mix with a fork or whisk for 30 seconds. Return to the microwave and continue this process until the 6 minutes are up.

Now at this point you’ll want to have a heat safe dish or silicone mold buttered completely and ready to go. You’ll then want to pour your mix into your dish or molds slowly. Then place them directly into the fridge to cool. I like to wait an hour or two however you can usually start sampling them at the 30 minute mark or even sooner if using molds. I prefer a large Pyrex dish myself and once cooled I like to cut my caramels into rectangles and sprinkle them with a healthy amount of Sea Salt to taste. You can then place each individual caramel into Saran Wrap and then you’re ready to share some sweet, salty, buttery confections with the crew.
