Mimosa

Mimosa is a cannabis strain that’s been taking the country by storm. Mimosa by Symbiotic Genetics is a lovely, citrus-scented flower perfect for a daytime sesh. Much like it’s alcoholic namesake, Mimosa can be enjoyed any time of day! It’s a cross between Purple Punch and Clementine. Clementine is a sativa while Purple Punch is an indica. This strain is a balanced mash-up of the best of both worlds, perfect for a productive high.

A friend of mine gave me a sample of this sweet strain and I was able to test out its effects through my workday! I’m not sure where she got it from because Mimosa is somewhat hard to find. Colorado natives get to enjoy this stuff regularly and my friend can’t live if there’s something exclusive she hasn’t gotten her hands on yet.

Mimosa is said to have effects such as focus, energy, happiness, euphoria, and mood uplifting. This Sunday brunch strain also has amazing medical uses for things like stress, depression, nausea, fatigue, and pain.

This bud is bright green with vibrant orange hairs. I didn’t have much purple in mine. It’s quite visibly frosty and the gumball-sized nugs aren’t too dense, allowing it to crumble into a fine powder using just the force of your fingertips. The scent of organic raw honey with a touch of orange overwhelms me when I open the container. It’s a very light, pleasant scent that is super fragrant. I would wear it as a perfume.

I sparked up in the early morning somewhere around 7am. I’m a big fan of the wake and bake as well as productive highs, so I was pleasantly surprised when I didn’t feel lethargic, but rather ready and eager to start the day.

Mimosa was the perfect kick starter for my workday. In the span of two hours, I did laundry, made breakfast, washed dishes, vacuumed, folded said laundry, and sent out at least 4 emails. After this, I was on the go in Beverly Hills and West LA for the next five or six hours with one of my bosses.

I didn’t feel my usual midday urge for a nap and the day seemed to go by faster than normal. This could’ve been because I was too busy to think about the time, but I think the Mimosa had something to do with it. I did notice I felt a lot more euphoric, whereas I’m a neutral, resting bitch face kind of person. I also noted I was a lot less stressed by demands made of me that day, which was a great relief. I tend to stress a lot, even outside of work, about anything and everything from what I’m going to have for dinner, to certain work deadlines. I found myself much calmer and in control of my thoughts, rather than them constantly racing.

just one mimosa

Mimosa is great for those who could use a change of pace, or a nice pick me up before they start the day. Just like the drink, no one’s really going to stop you if you want to have more than one!
