Anyone that knows me knows I love a good hybrid or indica. I always try to mix it up when re-stocking my supply so that I don’t get bored of the same strains all the time. This past week I got to try this amazing flower named Master Kush and I’m here to tell you all about my experience.
My preferred method of procuring flower is delivery. It’s usually quite fast, simple to do, and eliminates the need for having to go out of your way to a dispensary to make your purchase. The delivery service I’ve been using since I moved to California is called Kushagram. I found them using the trusty app Weedmaps and have been a loyal customer ever since. They deliver all throughout LA and some parts of the OC. With a simple call or text message, anyone 21+ with a valid ID can get their meds delivered.
I called Kushagram and asked the girl on the phone if she could recommend anything I’d like, seeing as they have a list of all my past orders. She recommended a strain called Master Kush aka Master K. I’d never heard of it before but decided to give it a shot and ordered 7 grams of Master K along with 3.5 grams of unidentifiable private reserve shake. I don’t usually get shake either, but it was cheap and surprisingly messed me up a lot more than the Master K. That’s a story for another time, however.
An hour later when my flower arrived, I immediately cracked open the glass jar of Master K and began inspecting. The nugs themselves are decently sized, some much larger than others. The color is a mixture of dark and light green with some small flecks of orange here and there. The flower is dense, not dry at all, and doesn’t turn to powder when you crush it between your fingers. I’m a fan of breaking down my weed with my hands, but for this, I’d recommend using a grinder due to the density and stickiness of it. There’s a lot of kief covering these nugs and I’d recommend saving that to roll or use in edibles. For those unfamiliar with the term ‘kief’, it refers to the resinous trichomes of cannabis that looks somewhat like crystallized dew when looking at it on the cannabis itself. It sticks to your fingers and coats them in a fine, gritty residue.
The smell is reminiscent of Blue Dream and saltwater, in the best way possible. I also get a hint of Girl Scout Cookies in there. After passing a visual and olfactory inspection, there was nothing left but to smoke Master K and see how it performed. I rolled a blunt—my preferred method of ingesting cannabis— and took note of how I felt at different intervals. This was a slow build up. I felt the same after the first 10 minutes of smoking. Halfway through the blunt is when I began to feel the effects of Master K. My eyes felt heavier and I had this incredible anxiety relief. I tend to get stressed and anxious very easily and found that Master K was a great strain for calming me down.
In addition to the calm, I had serious munchies once I was through smoking. This strain would be perfect for anyone suffering from appetite issues or weight gain, as it stimulates hunger quite well. Overall my experience with Master K was a good one. I slept like a baby after tending to my hunger and didn’t feel groggy the next morning. I recommend giving Master K a try. If you do, let me know how you liked it in the comments below!
