Low Sugar/Low Carb/Keto Friendly Cannabutter “Bomb-Bons” Recipe
When it comes to Cannabis Edibles, everyone is familiar with classic confections such as brownies, space cakes, cookies and gummies. All of which are delicious but also packed with Sugar/Carbohydrates. To give you a little history, Two years ago I turned 40. I weighed in at 235 pounds (5’8″) and was tired and depressed, so I decided to try out the Keto Diet and in 60 Days I lost 60 pounds which boosted my confidence as well as my energy level. I then became a true believer as I was able to keep the weight off for the next 22 months. I no longer do a full Keto regiment these days, however I still try and minimize my sugar/carb intake while utilizing techniques that truly suck, such as portion control and late night eating decisions. Unfortunately, as a devout cannabis user, I also deal with munchies and suffer from those intense late night sugar cravings, so I came up with a guilt free, low carb option that not only satisfies but is delectable and takes just minutes to prepare.
Below is my simple recipe for what I call “Bomb-Bons”. They’re pretty much ice cream balls made from 4 basic ingredients, Heavy Whipping Cream, Cream Cheese, CannaButter and Vanilla extract. I prefer to add peanut butter for sweetness but you can use Stevia, sugar, honey, fruit, almond butter, chocolate chips, Sea Salt, you name it. Just remember, the more sugar you add into your Bomb-Bons the higher the carbs and less Keto friendly they’ll become. Either way, they’ll no doubt be morsels of goodness that will satisfy your urges. I like to prepare them during the day so they’ll be ready at night when you need them. Enjoy !
“OGKushner’s Peanut Butter Bomb-Bons”
1. 8oz’s of Cream Cheese at room temperature (soft)
2. 4oz’s = 1/2 stick of Cannabutter at room temperature (soft)
3. 1/4 Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream
4. 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
5. 1/4 cup of your favorite Peanut Butter (or whatever tickles your fancy)
With any mixer combine all ingredients in a large bowl and whip starting on the lowest speed and working your way up to High for about 4 minutes while scraping the sides of the bowl. Make sure to taste to determine if you need more peanut butter/sweetener.
Once fully mixed (Should be smooth) use whatever size spoon or device to scoop the balls and place them onto parchment paper or silicone (No Foil) or just pour the whole dang thing into a bowl. Then place into the freezer for 1-2 hours until hard and then store them in airtight containers or bags once frozen or just eat it right out of the bowl you animal ! They should last for up to a week in the freezer if you have self control.
This recipe should make at least 18-24 – 1″ Bomb-Bons that have approximately 1 total carb per ball (Unless you add in other goodies). I usually eat 4 but I’ll easily inhale 8 on a rough night. I also love to buy Sugar-Free Whipped Cream in the can (“Land O’ Lakes” brand is the only one I’ve seen) and top mine off with a healthy squirt while I devour them. Bon Appetit!
