If you’re like me, you need a little motivation to go to the gym and get a decent workout in. Even at home exercises tend to be a daunting task without the proper push. Here are some great cannabis strains to help get your mood and energy up so you can go kick ass in the gym.

1. Sunset Sherbet

    • Sunset Sherbet is the go-to when you’re just not in the mood to work out. On top of the standard euphoria and stress relief, Sunset Sherbet gives a jolt of energy followed by a serious case of the munchies, which is necessary for those post-workout gains. The aromatic and light citrus scent is unusual for the indica variety of strains but is ultra-pleasant to smell and smoke. It’s a must try the next time you’re not feeling enthusiastic about that hot yoga class you committed to attending.

  • Do-Si-Dos is an obvious frontrunner when it comes to strains that give you a great burst of energy and euphoria. This strain is a great way to start the day if you’re the type that likes to work out first thing in the morning. Do-Si-Dos is an indica dominant hybrid that comes from the combination of Face Off OG and Girl Scout Cookies. I’d highly recommend pre-gaming with Do-Si-Dos before you make the trip to the treadmill. It’ll give you that extra push to go that extra mile.

    • Lime OG is easily one of my favorite strain when I need a bit of a boost. I love the citrusy smell and the smooth, fruity taste of the smoke. Lime OG is the perfect hybrid to give you a nice balance of functional, productive, relaxed, and focused. Real Functional approves this strain for an easy, breezy workout, that leaves you feeling accomplished.

      • Berry Fusion, also popularly known as Berry OG, is a cannabis strain known for its lovely scent and induction of productive highs. This strain has been known to help improve focus, creativity, and increase energy despite its indica dominance. It’s the perfect strain for social activities like a boxing class. Try this one out when you want to increase your energy and creativity to outlast and outsmart your opponent.

        5. Papaya Mango OG

        • Papaya Mango OG is great for a burst of productivity. I used this strain for a ritual wake and bake session and found it to be an awesome, energizing way to begin my day. I settled in for about two hours with very little distraction. Once the effects begin to wear down, it’s time for a post-workout nap to recharge and restore your energy. Papaya Mango OG is a good strain to turn to when you want to destroy your workout and settle in for a good night’s sleep afterward. This is one to try for all you nighttime exercise fanatics.
