Full Disclosure: Cannasmack sent me a starter kit of their Cannaluxe skin care product in return for my honest feedback as a pre-launch product tester. Although I did not pay for the product I received, my review is honest and in no way influenced by Cannasmack.
What’s in the Cannaluxe Starter Kit I received
The box that Cannasmack sent me contained two (2) 1-ounce bottles of Hyrdating Cleansing Oil; one (1) 1-ounce jar of Orange Lip Scrub; one (1) 2-ounce jar of Clarifying Polish; one (1) 4-ounce bottle of Hydrating Toner Spritz; and, one (1) 1-ounce bottle of Revitalizing Serum.
All of Cannasmack’s skincare products are cruelty-free and vegan, phosphate free, paraben free, gluten free, and made in the USA. Most of their products are infused with Hemp Seed Oil, but not all. Check the ingredients of each product at Cannasmack.com.

My first time using Cannaluxe was a little embarrassing
Before I volunteered to be a pre-launch product tester, I had never used a line of products in my skincare routine. I grew up poor, so I was lucky if I got to spend money on a bottle of face wash. Otherwise, I used shampoo or a bar of soap to wash my face.
As a result of my upbringing, I had no idea what to do with everything Cannasmack sent me. I didn’t even know what order I was supposed to use the products in. Thankfully, Google exists and so I searched for some instructions. Then, I lined the products up in my medicine cabinet — in order — and waited until the evening to wash my face.
Although the package didn’t come with instructions on which products to use first, each product does have instructions on the label and tells you exactly how to use each product individually.
Like an airhead, I didn’t read the entire label on the Clarifying Polish Scrub, which says that the polish should only be used once or twice per week, and I used it two (2) days in a row. As a result, my skin became irritated and I developed a small rash. The rash quickly went away on its own and did not reappear when I started the use the product as directed. (LOL! Imagine that!)
The entire skincare routine is an aromatherapy session
I’m going to try my best to coherently explain how amazing the skincare routine is when you have access to the full line of products.
Each product, from the beginning to the end of the routine, smells like heaven. I never felt like I was washing my face, I felt like I was taking a small trip to the spa. And it all comes down to the high-quality ingredients Cannasmack uses in their products.
For example, according to the product description on Cannasmack.com, the Hydrating Cleansing Oil has the following ingredients: “Safflower Seed Oil, Orange Oil, Ylang Ylang Flower Oil, Argan Kernel Oil, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Rose Hip Seed Oil, Aloe Leaf Extract, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E Oil). THC FREE – 100% NON-PSYCHOACTIVE”.
Because of the smell and quality of the product, washing my face went from being a chore to a way to treat myself after a stressful day of mental health recovery. It was my go-to transition activity whenever I was done working in my therapy workbook. Then, after I went through the entire skincare routine, I smelled like an orange cinnamon roll for the remainder of the day. The lingering smell became a favored reminder that I had taken care of myself that day.
Eventually, even my pillow started to smell like the products which turned going to bed and waking up an amazing experience all on its own!
Did it work?
Yes. Although, after a week or so, it became clear to me that I did not need to use the Revitalizing Serum or the Daily Moisture Retention Cream; at least, ironically enough, not every day.
Despite the amount of oil used throughout the entire skincare routine, the only time my face felt oily was when I used the Hydrating Toner Spritz and Daily Moisture Retention Cream one after the other. I quickly realized, however, that it was specifically the Daily Moisture Retention Cream that made my face feel like it was getting oily faster. As a result, I started to use the Retention Cream once a week instead of every day.
My favorite product, by far, was the Clarifying Polish Scrub. My biggest issue is that my pores are large and they get clogged really easily. Although I cannot use the Clarifying Polish Scrub more than once or twice a week (depending on my activity level), using it in the proper increments really cleared my skin up and kept it feeling soft.
One of my cousins accidentally left a bottle of soap-free face cleaner when she was here last. It has microbeads for scrubbing, but they’re too big. The Clarifying Polish Scrub, on the other hand, has a very small “grit” and seems to get into and clean out every single pore on my face.
Currently, I’m out of the Clarifying Polish Scrub, so I’ve been using a bar of CBD-infused soap that I got from a local dispensary. I still don’t wash my face every day, but every other time I wash my face, I follow up with the Hydrating Toner Spritz. I still have most of the bottle, and I am very generous with the spritzes.
If I could afford to buy another jar of Clarifying Polish Scrub, I think my ideal skincare routine would be as follows: Wash with CBD-infused soap and hydrate with Toner Spritz every two (2) or three (3) days; Additionally, wash with Clarifying Polish Scrub once or twice a week.
Will I buy hemp-infused skincare products from Cannasmack again?
Yes. Most definitely.
Because the Clarifying Polish Scrub can only be used once or twice a week, and it doesn’t take much to wash my entire face, a 2-ounce jar can last me up to 6- or 7-months. However, I am not currently in a position to justify spending $20 on 2-ounces of face cleanser; regardless of how wonderful it makes me feel or how long it lasts.
As I mentioned earlier, I still have a mostly-full bottle of Hydrating Toner Spritz left. Admittedly, I don’t remember to use it as often as I should. Regardless, if the bottle makes it to September/October, I’ll have had it for 2-years! In my opinion, a $28-bottle of toner spritz that lasts 2-years is a pretty incredible investment.
Additionally, although I really enjoyed the rest of the skincare routine, I still have most of the products because I just don’t use them often enough. Once I ran out of Clarifying Polish Scrub, I just didn’t feel like continuing the rest of the process. Partly because, without the Clarifying Polish Scrub once or twice a week, I started to feel like the Hydrating Cleansing Oil was building up in my pores. That isn’t Cannasmack’s fault, though, that’s just how my skin works.
Regardless, I don’t think I would buy any of the other cleansers now that I’ve discovered the CBD-infused soap. Especially because the soap is only $10 as opposed to $20 for a bottle of Hydrating Cleansing Oil.
