With the holidays behind us, getting a good beauty regimen going after the last two months of partying, eating, and drinking will probably be necessary for most. If you’re thinking about trying something new, CBD infused beauty products have become very popular in the last year or so. CBD has been added to skin care products for a long time, but only recently have there been studies that it’s been shown to reduce signs of aging and tends to create a youthful glow in skin.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, Hemp oil is high in omegas, has vitamins A,B,C,D,and E (yes, give us that alphabet, hennies!) and has both moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. The molecules are remarkably small, which helps with absorption. CBD has been shown to improve skin condition whether you have a something as irritating as eczema, or just have a few fine lines you’re not too fond of. CBD beauty has become a burgeoning market, with investors starting to take note, and these days brands are offering high-end skin care along with medicated pain relief products like CBD tinctures, topical pain relief cream and more.

One such company is Lord Jones, developed by Cindy Capobianco, who considered marijuana to be a wellness aid with an ancient history, and wanted to create products that were made with transparency and trust, as a reaction to her initial experiences with Californian dispensaries in the early 2000’s. Capobiano brought her background in fashion editing and PR to her brand, which has become a favorite among folks like Amy Schumer, Olivia Wilde, and Jessica Seinfeld, as well as wellness-oriented Californians. This article in InStyle has more.

Hora Skincare  is another boutique skin care company, founded by Sam Czubiak, that infuses its products with CBD and features beautifully designed packaging. Czubiak comes from a background in wardrobe styling and the edibles market.  She’d been having problems with her skin and wanted to utilize the calming effects of CBD into skin care. Out of this, Hora’s Super Serum was born; this serum has just about every skin healing ingredient in one; we’re talking Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3, Marine Collagen, Vitamin A, Hyalurnonic Acid, Vitamin C, and CBD. (I may or may not be considering purchasing this right now as I write.)

CBD for Life was founded when CEO Beth Stavola, a former Wall Street executive, found that using CBD not only relieved back pain, but also cleared up and softened her skin. Her goal in starting the brand was to bring the benefits of CBD into the mainstream. Her previous projects included a dispensary based in Arizona, which she sold for about $25 million. CBD for Life products are free of GMOs, phthalates, artificial colors, and formaldehyde. They offer everything from pain relief, to skin care, to oral spray. Their site is incredibly informative and includes information about CBD studies, products, and the company itself, which is women owned and runs out of New Jersey.
