MK ULTRA STRAIN REVIEW

MK Ultra is an indica strain that was recommended to me by a local dispensary. It was an impulse buy that turned out to be a great strain in between regular pick-ups. MK Ultra possesses lovely colors as well as a pleasant smell upon opening the jar.

Named after the methods of mental manipulation employed by the CIA’s Project MKUltra, this indica-dominant strain stands apart due to its powerful cerebral effects. A cross between mostly-sativa hybrid OG Kush and indica G-13, this strain is bred by T.H. Seeds and won 1st place Indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2003 and 2nd place in 2004. OG Kush is the inception of all great OG strains like Girl Scout Cookies and Tahoe OG. G-13 is a super strong indica strain with many rumors surrounding it’s arrival. One such rumor is that the CIA and FBI along with other federal agencies gathered the best strains from breeders all around the world to create the G-13 strain. Despite the confusion surrounding it’s origins, G-13 delivers effects like no other. The combination of these two strains makes MK Ultra a well-balanced yet potent strain.

Indoor growing of the MK Ultra strain is facilitated by the plant’s short stature, and its above average yield delivers particularly sticky, dense, pungent flowers. MK Ultra is renowned for its ‘hypnotic’ effects that are fast-acting and best used when strong medication is desired. As evidenced by its collection of awards, this indica is one of the strongest in the world. It might be best for a day when not getting off the couch won’t ruin your plans for the day.

The MK Ultra strain comes in a range of medium to large sized nugs that are fairly dense. The colors are predominantly light green with small sections of orange pistils decorating the bud. It’s covered in a thin layer of trichomes that aren’t visually noticeable until MK Ultra gets broken down. I would recommend a grinder for this bud for those interested in saving their kief for other projects. The bud is, however, easy to break down with your hands.

Consumers of the MK Ultra strain report feeling sleepy, giggly, euphoric, and relaxed using this strain. Some of the many medical uses for this strain includes stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, migraines, and menstrual cramps. Much like a lot of other strains, MK Ultra is also useful for inflammation due to the terpene caryophyllene. The terpene caryophyllene is present in many herbs and spices, including black pepper, basil, and oregano, and cannabis strains with high levels of it deliver a spicy, funky warmth to the nose, similar to cinnamon and cloves. The versatility of this strain makes it great for a variety of consumers to try and include in their routine. I can see myself picking up this strain again in the near future. I’d recommend this to anyone with a fairly high THC tolerance level. It’ll be sure to impress at the next session. MK Ultra’s hypnotic effects are sure to please even the pickiest of cannabis consumers.
